Reggae music and beer from my world to yours.

This is my spot, it is named in honor of King Tubby's Home Town Hifi, King Tubby is my favorite musically ever. I will focus on Reggae, specifically local reggae from San Diego and elsewhere in California, as well as some well thought out writings on why I think the 70's in Reggae are simply the best 10 years in any genre of music, ever (of course I know this truth only really applies to my life). Also I will offer up level headed non-snooty reviews on craft beers. My name is Donald, a 28 year old Father and Husband. What makes me qualified? I live off 30th street in San Diego, the craft beer capital of the world. Also I have been on a personal mission to study everything about reggae, and from that studying have put together my own home studio in which to produce Dub, and play roots. I am a Bass player, an IPA drinker, I love easy skanking to a militant Steppers beat, and I yearn to share it all with the blogolandworld. rarely do i go “import” but Jefferson State (basically an area of northern ca, and southern ore) has a small brewery called Etna. I dare anyone here in San Diego to try this beer and not like it…. and if anyone finds an IPA from Etna let me know! http://etnabrew.net/

5 bucks gets you a not quite pale ale. Magic Hat is a vermont craft that my liquor vendor swore by. It was hot when I got it so I popped it in the freezbox and behold, just as promised it went down smooth, not hoppy like I like, but it was a welcomed change… Go try it. Cheers!

I live next door….. I’d say the ad says it all… The other best bottle shop is technically more on el cajon blvd than it is 30th street… Either way, cheers be to thee!
